Who We Are

Faith Baptist Church is an independent, fundamental, Baptist congregation. Our desire is to maintain a testimony for the Lord Jesus Christ in our community by…

  • Promoting the worship of God

  • Teaching the whole counsel of God as found in the Bible

  • Edifying/building up believers in the Faith

  • Maintaining a witness to an unbelieving world at home and abroad.

What We Believe

  • We believe that there is one and only one, living and true God – an infinite, intelligent Spirit, the maker and supreme ruler of heaven and earth. In the unity of the Godhead there are three persons – The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – equal in divine perfection, and executing distinct but harmonious offices.

    Genesis 1:1; John 1:1; Exodus 20:2,3; Isaiah 40:28; Isaiah 43:10-15; Isaiah 44:6; Psalm 83:18; I Corinthians 8:6

  • We believe that, as purposed by God, and pre-announced in the prophecies of Scripture, the eternal Son of God came into this world that He might manifest God to men, fulfill prophecy, and become the Redeemer; that He was begotten of the Holy Spirit in a miraculous manner, born of a virgin; that He received a human body and a sinless human nature; and that He is both the eternal Son of God and God the Son – perfect God and perfect man. As God’s provision for mankind’s salvation, Jesus willingly went to the cross. By the shedding of His blood in His death He fully satisfied the just demands of a holy and righteous God regarding sin – the Just dying for the unjust. Three days following His burial Jesus rose bodily from the dead; is now on the right hand of the Father in heaven; is preparing a place for those who put their faith in Him and has promised to return for the believer.

    Isaiah 7:14; Isaiah 9:6,7; John 1:1-5; John 1:14,18; I Corinthians 15:1-6; John 14:1-6; Titus 2:13

  • We believe that the Bible – a collection of sixty-six books, Genesis through Revelation – is God’s revelation of Himself and instruction to mankind. It does not just contain the word of God but is the very word of God written by holy men as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Bible is “Inspired” – outbreathed by God and is free from any error as originally given.

    II Timothy 3:15-17; II Peter 1:19-21; Psalm 19:7-11; Psalm 119:97-105; Ephesians 6:17; Hebrews 4:12

  • We believe that Adam was created in innocence and enjoyed unhindered fellowship with God his maker. By his voluntary transgression in the Garden Adam fell from his sinless state and acquired a fallen nature. As a result, all Adam’s offspring are sinners by nature and conduct – and under just condemnation of a Holy God. We believe that to be “saved” from his fallen condition a sinner must be “born again”. In the new birth the sinner is made a new creation in Christ. Scripture tells us that by grace we are saved through faith. This salvation is not based on our works but is a gift of God. Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the only condition of Salvation. Scripture says that we are justified by our faith. Justification is the judicial act of God whereby He declares the believer righteous upon the basis of the imputed righteousness of Christ; that it is bestowed solely through faith in the Redeemer.

    Romans 5:12-14; Romans 3:10-12; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; John 3:3,14-18; John 6:29,40; Acts 16:31; Ephesians 2:8,9

  • We believe the local church is a visible expression of the Body of Christ also spoken of in Scripture as the Bride of Christ. The New Testament Church was established on the Day of Pentecost. It is composed of those who have placed their faith in Christ’s finished work of Redemption and have been added to Christ’s Body by the Holy Spirit. As a church we practice the ordinances of Baptism (prior to membership) and the Lord’s Table. Our officers consist of Pastors (also called Bishops or Elders) and Deacons.
